Quiet & Memory Room

Not every moment of the day needs to be social, and our quiet and memory room at Elstree Court gives residents a calm space to step away when they’d like a break from busier communal areas. It’s a space designed around stillness, reflection and comfort.

A Calm Space Away From the Bustle

Some residents simply prefer a quieter setting, whether that’s to rest, read, or enjoy a peaceful moment alone or with a visiting family member. Our quiet room offers exactly that, a gentler alternative to our main lounges for residents who’d rather step back from the busier parts of the day.

It’s a space our team is mindful of too, recognising that not every resident wants, or benefits from, constant social stimulation, and making sure that preference is respected.

Supporting Memory and Familiarity

The memory room element of this space is designed to support residents through reminiscence, using familiar objects, photographs and prompts that can help bring back memories and spark meaningful conversation. This can be especially valuable for residents who find comfort in familiar routines or cues from their past.

This space is available to every resident, including those with us on a short-term respite basis, giving them a calm space to settle into during their stay.
